HEALING THROUGH THE ARTS

OUR CONNECTION TO: "THE ROBEY THEATRE"

California Performing Arts AV maintains a profound artistic and educational connection with The Robey Theatre Company through its Founder and CEO, Melissa Kaye Bontempt. Having studied extensively under Mr. Ben Guillory—The Robey’s Co-Founder, Artistic Director, and an award-winning actor and director—Melissa has been deeply influenced by his approach to craft, discipline, and storytelling. This invaluable training has equipped her with the tools to share professional acting techniques and methodologies through California Performing Arts AV’s workshops and programs, where she now mentors emerging artists in the Antelope Valley. Drawing from her years of scene study and real-world experience, Melissa integrates the principles of The Robey’s legacy—truth, representation, and cultural depth—into CPAAV’s trauma-informed, performance-based education. Her fast-growing success both on stage and on film sets further amplifies her credibility as an instructor, producer, and performer, inspiring students to pursue excellence while using the arts as a vehicle for healing, empowerment, and transformation
