So You Think You Want to Be an Actor?

A 4 Week Beginner Acting Workshop (Online)

Have you recently found yourself thinking, “I think I want to be an actor”… but you don’t know why, how, or where to start?

This workshop was created for you.

This 4 week online class meets once a week and is designed for absolute beginners—no experience, no training, and no pressure required. It is a gentle, honest introduction to acting and the entertainment industry, led by award-winning actress and nonprofit founder Melissa Kaye Bontempt, through California Performing Arts AV.

You will explore what acting really is (and what it isn’t), gain confidence reading simple scenes, learn basic on-camera and stage fundamentals, and understand how the industry actually works—without intimidation, gatekeeping, or unrealistic expectations.
